Towards the end of her stint with Berlin and afterwards, Nunn actually did some acting as well. In 1976, she appeared in an episode of Police Story starring Tony Musante, Bibi Besch, John Ashton, and Paul Larson. The following year she appeared in an episode of James at 16 starring Lance Kerwin, Kim Richards, Linden Chiles and Lynn Carlin. Also that year she guest starred in Rafferty starring Patrick McGoohan, Earl Boen, John Chappell, and Linda Dano. The following year Terri went on to appear in Family starring Sada Thompson, Kristy McNichol, James Broderick and Gary Frank.

In 1978 Nunn landed her first TV movie role in Having Babies III co-starring Kathleen Beller, Patty Duke, Rue McClanahan, Phil Foster, Richard Mulligan, Dennis Howard, and Michael Lembeck. She guest starred in The Runaways which starred Michael Biehn, Alan Feinstein, James T. Callahan, Karen Machon, and Patti Cohoon-Friedman.
Also in 1978, landed her first starring film role as Jeannie in Thank God It's Friday. She co-starred with Donna Summer, Valerie Landsburg, Chick Vennera, Jeff Goldblum, Debra Winger, Andrea Howard, and Ray Vitte. Nunn went on to star in Katie: Portrait of a Centerfold with Kim Basinger, Vivian Blaine, Fabian, Don Johnson, Tab Hunter, Dorothy Malone, and Don Stroud (1978); Barnaby Jones starring Buddy Ebsen, Lee Meriwether and Mark Shera (1978); Time Express starring Vincent Price, Coral Browne and Woodrow Parfrey. Also featuring Morgan Fairchild, Lee Meriwether, Lyle Waggoner, and Paul Carr. She also appeared in an episode of Vega$ starring Robert Urich, Greg Morris, Phyllis Davis, and Bart Braverman; and Lou Grant starring (copy links).

In 1980, Nunn starred in the pilot of the show Hagen starring Chad Everrett, Phillip R. Allen, Eric Braeden and Samantha Eggar. She went on to appear in Scared Straight! Another Story starring Bob Bragg, Randy Brooks, Cliff De Young, Linden Chiles, Tony Burton, and Daniel D. Halleck (1980); The Georgia Peaches co-starring Tanya Tucker, Lane Smith, Dennis Patrick, Sally Kirkland, Noble Willingham, Dirk Benedict, and David Hayward (1980); Lou Grant starring (Edward Asner, Robert Walden, Mason Adams, Jack Bannon, Daryl Anderson, Nancy Marchand, and Linda Kelsey) (1981); Trapper John, M.D. starring Pernell Roberts, Gregory Harrison, Brian Stokes Mitchell, and Madge Sinclair (1981); Making the Grade starring James Naughton, Graham Jarvis, Steven Peterman, George Wendt, Alley Mills, Philip Charles MacKenzie, and Steven Peterman (1982); and T.J. After a long abscense from the acting scene, in 2007 Terri Nunn appeared in an episode of Kaya starring Danielle Savre, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Mike Dopud, Joe MacLeod, Alexia Fast, Cory Monteith, and Justin Wilczynski.

In 2011, Terri announced that it actually was her that posed nude for a February 1977 issue of Penthouse under the assumed name Betsy Harris. She had denied it for many years. She is still looking fine over 35 years later!
