Joanie Cunningham from Happy Days played by Erin Moran

Erin was born October 18, 1960 in California.  She is most famous for playing the role of Joanie Cunningham on the TV comedy Happy Days.

Erin landed her first acting role in 1967 in the film Who's Minding the Mint? which starred comedic talents such as Jim Hutton, Bob Denver, Dorothy Provine, Joey Bishop, Milton Berle, Victor Buono, Jamie Farr, Jack Gilford, and Walter Brennan.  This was followed the next year with another film role in How Sweet It Is! starring James Garner, Debbie Reynolds, Paul Lynde and Maurice Ronet.

In 1968 Erin landed her first recurring role in a TV series as Jenny Jones in the show Daktari co-starring Marshall Thompson, Cheryl Miller, Hedley Mattingly, Hari Rhodes, and Yale Summers.  She played the role over 15 episodes until 1969.

Moran went on to appear in 2 episodes of Death Valley Days starring Robert Taylor (1969); The Happy Ending co-starring Jean Simmons, John Forsythe, Lloyd Bridges, Shirley Jones, Bobby Darin, and Tina Louise (1969); and 80 Steps to Jonah co-starring Wayne Newton, Keenan Wynn, Mickey Rooney, Jo Van Fleet, Slim Pickens, Brandon Cruz, and Diana Ewing (1969).

Erin started off the 1970's making appearances in shows such as The Courtship of Eddie's Father starring Bill Bixby, Miyoshi Umeki and Brandon Cruz (1970); The F.B.I. starring Efrem Zimbalist Jr., Philip Abbott and Marvin Miller (1970); My Three Sons starring Fred MacMurray, Stanley Livingston and Don Grady.  Moran starred in the film Watermelon Man with Godfrey Cambridge, Estelle Parsons, Mantan Moreland, Kay Kimberly, Howard Caine, and Scott Garrett (1970).

Moran would go on to appear in shows such as Family Affair starring Brian Keith, Sebastian Cabot, Kathy Garver, Anissa Jones, and Johnny Whitaker (3 episodes, 1970-1971); O'Hara, U.S. Treasury starring David Janssen (1971); The Smith Family starring Henry Fonda, Janet Blair, Darleen Carr, and future Happy Days co-star Ron Howard (1971); Bearcats! starring Rod Taylor and Dennis Cole (1971); Gunsmoke starring James Arness, Milburn Stone, Amanda Blake, and Ken Curtis (2 episodes, 1971); The Don Rickles Show starring Don Rickles, Louise Sorel, Joyce Van Patten, Dick Van Patten, Bob Newhart, Robert Hogan, M. Emmet Walsh, and John Byner (1972); Hallmark Hall of Fame: Lisa, Bright and Dark co-starring Anne Baxter, John Forsythe, Anne Lockhart, Kay Lenz, and future Happy Days co-star Anson Williams (1972).

It was in 1974 that Erin landed a role of Joanie Cunningham on the TV show Happy Days co-starring Ron Howard (Richie Cunningham), Don Most (Ralph Malph),
Anson Williams (Potsie Weber), Henry Winkler (Arthur Fonzarelli aka 'Fonzie'),   Marion Ross (Marion Cunningham), Tom Bosley (Howard Cunningham), Al Molinaro (Al Delvecchio), Pat Morita (Arnold), Scott Baio (Chachi Arcola), and Lynda Goodfriend as Lori Beth.  Later the cast would be joined by Ted McGinley(Roger Phillips) and Cathy Silvers (Jenny Piccalo) as Ron Howard and Donny Most left.    Erin played the role of Joanie for 10 years until the show ended in 1984.

During her run on Happy Days, Erin also made appearances in shows such as The Waltons starring Richard Thomas, Ralph Waite, Michael Learned, Jon Walmsley, Mary Beth McDonough, Eric Scott, Judy Norton, Kami Cotler, David W. Harper, Will Geer, Ellen Corby, and Joe Conley (1975).  She lent her voice to the animation The Magic Pony co-starring Jim Backus, Hans Conried, and Johnny Whitaker (1977); Greatest Heroes of the Bible (1978); Twirl co-starring Lisa Whelchel, Stella Stevens, Charles Haid, Edd Byrnes, Heather Locklear, Missy Gold, and Rosalind Chao (1981); and Galaxy of Terror co-starring Edward Albert, Ray Walston, Robert Englund, and Taaffe O'Connell (1981).

In 1982, Moran extended her role as Joanie Cunningham in a spin-off of Happy Days called Joanie Loves Chachi with Happy Days co-star and on screen love interest Scott Baio (Chachi Arcola) along with Al Molinaro (Al Delvecchio).  The show also starred Ellen Travolta (Louisa Arcola Delvecchio), Robert Pierce (Bingo), Derrel Maury (Mario), and Winifred Freedman (Annette).  The show only lasted 17 episodes before it was cancelled in 1983.

While her Happy Days stint continued, Moran also appeared in an episde of Hotel starring James Brolin, Connie Sellecca, Shari Belafonte, and Nathan Cook (1983).  Erin also appeared on several episodes of The Love Boat
starring  Gavin MacLeod, Lauren Tewes, Bernie Kopell, Fred Grandy, Jill Whelan, and Ted Lange (1980-1983).

After her run on Happy Days, Erin appeared in the TV series Glitter starring David Birney, Morgan Brittany, Arte Johnson, Arthur Hill, Tracy Nelson, Christopher Mayer, and Barbara Sharma (1984); 2 more episodes of
The Love Boat (1985); Murder, She Wrote starring Angela Lansbury along with Tom Bosley, Pat Hingle, and Hayley Mills(1986); and Diagnosis Murder starring Dick Van Dyke, Barry Van Dyke, Victoria Rowell, and Charlie Schlatter (1998).

After a 10 year hiatus from acting taking time out to marry and concentrate on her personal life, Erin returned to the screen in 2008 participating in MTV's Celebrity Fit Club.   That same year she landed a film role in Broken Promise co-starring Eric Alamia, Cesar Anderson, Heather Grein, and Toby Beau (2008);  Also that year, Moran appeared in Mother Goose Parade starring Tori Spelling, KayCee Stroh and Adrian Gonzalez.  Other appearances were made by Tony Dow from Leave it to Beaver, Christopher Atkins from the Blue Lagoon, Ashley Benson from Pretty Little Liars.

In 2009 Erin appeared in the daytime soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful starring Jack Allocco, Texas Battle, Patrick Duffy, Jim J. Bullock, and Andrew Collins. Moran landed a role in the film Not Another B Movie co-starring Byron Thames, Larry Thomas, David Faustino, Joe Estevez, James Vallo, Lindsay Gareth, and Edward Asner (2010).

We will be seeing more of Erin as she is slated to star in the film The Deceit co-starring Robin Bain, Courtney Gains, Katie Lohmann, Alana Curry, Brooke Lewis, and Barry J. Ratcliffe scheduled for release sometime in 2011.
