Pam Dawber who played Mindy McConnell in Mork and Mindy

Pam Dawber was born October 1951 in Detriot, Michigan.  She is best known for playing Mindy McConnell in the sitcom Mork & Mindy opposite Robin Williams as Mork.  Pam is also well known as "Sam" Russell on the show My Sister Sam.

Pam started out as a fashion model and then broke into acting in the 1978 film A Wedding.  It mas almost immediately after that she landed the role of Mindy McConnell in the TV show Mork & Mindy co-starring Robin Williams who played alien Mork from the planet Ork.  The show also featured Conrad Janis (Frederick McConnell), Ralph James (Orson), Elizabeth Kerr (Cora Hudson), Crissy Wilzak Comstock (Glenda Faye Comstock), Robert Donner (Exidor), Tom Poson (Franklin Delano Bickley), and Gina Hecht (Jean DaVinci).  The show ran for four years and Dawber played the role of Mindy until the show ended in 1982.

During her run on Mork & Mindy, Dawber also starred in The Girl, the Gold Watch & Everything co-starring Robert Hays, Zohra Lampert, Ed Nelson, Maurice Evans, Peter Brown, Larry Hankin, and Jill Ireland (1980);  the animated feature Swan Lake with Christopher Atkins, Nancy Link, Kay Lenz, and Don Johnson (1981); and Twilight Theater co-starring Bob Denver, Steve Martin, Leslie Nielsen, Rosemary Clooney, Barbara Hershey, Harry Anderson, Mr. T, Shelley Duvall, and Darian Mathias (1982).

In 1986 Dawber landed the role of Samantha 'Sam' Russell in the TV series My Sister Sam.  She co-starred with Rebecca Schaeffer (Patti Russell), Jenny O'Hara (Dixie Randazzo), David Naughton (Jack Kincaid), and Joel Brooks (J.D. Lucas).  Pam would play the role for three years until the show ended in 1988.

During her run on My Sister Sam, Dawber also starred in Faerie Tale Theatre: The Little Mermaid co-starring Brian Dennehy, John Achorn, Helen Mirren, Laraine Newman, Treat Williams, Guy Boyd, and Karen Black (1987).

After My Sister Sam, Dawber starred in many films and TV movies such as Quiet Victory: The Charlie Wedemeyer Story co-starring Michael Nouri, Bess Meyer, Peter Berg, Dan Lauria, and Stephen Dorff (1988); Do You Know the Muffin Man? co-starring John Shea, Brian Bonsall, Anthony Geary, and Stephen Dorff (1989); The Face of Fear co-starring Lee Horsley and Walter Addison (1990); Rewrite for Murder co-starring George Clooney, Greg Germann, Beth Broderick, and Dennis Lipscomb (1991); the parody Stay Tuned co-starring John Ritter, Jeffrey Jones, David Tom, Heather McComb, Bob Dishy, and Eugene Levy (1992); and The Man with Three Wives co-starring Beau Bridges, Joanna Kerns, Kathleen Lloyd, Madge Sinclair, and Michael Flynn (1993).

Pam went on to appear in Dream On starring Brian Benben, Denny Dillon and Wendie Malick (1994); Web of Deception co-starring Powers Boothe, Lisa Collins, and Rosalind Chao (1994); Aaahh!!! Real Monsters with Charles Adler, Christine Cavanaugh and David Eccles (voice, 1994); A Child's Cry for Help co-starring Veronica Hamel, Daniel Hugh Kelly, Lisa Jakub, Cynthia Martells, and Tobey Maguire (1994); The Bears Who Saved Christmas with Charles Adler, Mary Kay Bergman, Brad Garrett, Henry Gibson, and Jonathan Winters (voice, 1994); A Stranger to Love co-starring Beau Bridges, Billy Forester, Tess Harper, Erik von Detten, Jordan Bridges, Dylan Bridges, and Ernie Lively (1996); and Life... and Stuff starring Teri Austin, Daniel Hagen , Kate Mulligan, Martin Mull, Michael Munoz, and Gary Imhoff (1997).

In 1997, Pam played the voice of Purdy in 101 Dalmatians: The Series co-starring Kath Soucie, Tara Strong, April Winchell, Charlotte Rae, Jeff Bennett, and Christine Cavanaugh.  She played the role in 20 episodes for the full run of the show until it ended in 1998.

Pam's last acting appearances were in 1999.  She starred in I'll Remember April co-starring Pat Morita, Trevor Morgan, Haley Joel Osment, Mark Harmon, and Yuji Okumoto (1999); and Don't Look Behind You co-starring Patrick Duffy, Dominic Raacke, Anne Marie DeLuise, Tanja Reichert, and Matthew Harrison (1999).

Pam has been spending her time focusing on raising her family that she began with her former co-star, husband Mark Harmon who she married in 1987.  She makes occasional personal appearances on the side and lately has done infomercials.  In 2006 she appeared in the documentary Christa McAuliffe: Reach for the Stars.  There were rumors that she would participate in bringing Mork & Mindy to the big screen, but so far nothing has surfaced.

  2. Still remember being so taken with her as a teenagers in the 70s. She was beautiful then and still is today. Very classy, yet also sexy. Still love watching Mork and Mindy shows on syndication. They were awesome!!!

    act. Is she still Married to Mark Harmon? How many children did she have?
    Mork and Mindy show is still my favorite comedy to this day. I wish they would bring it to TV or the big screen would be really fun her and Robbin Willams reunite. What a blockbuster that would be.
