Tanya Roberts who played Julie Rogers on the TV show "Charlie's Angels"

Tanya Roberts was born October 15, 1955 in New York City.  She is probably best known for playing the role of Julie Rogers on the TV show "Charlie's Angels".  She has also played notable roles in movies during the 1980's that made her one of the top sex symbols of that time.

Tanya Roberts played Julie Rogers on the TV show "Charlie's Angels" from 1980 to 1981

Tanya, like many of the other angels, began with a career doing TV commercials.  She also starred in a few off Broadway productions such as "Antione" and "Picnic".  In 1975, she got her on-screen debut with a starring role in the film "Forced Entry" co-starring Ron Max and Nancy Allen.  This was followed with other appearances in "The Yum-Yum Girls" co-starring Michelle Dawn, Harlan Cary Poe and Barbara Tully (1976); "The Private Files of J. Edgar Hoover" with Broderick Crawford, James Wainwright, Celeste Holm, José Ferrer, Rip Torn, and Michael Sacks (1977); "Fingers" co-starring Harvey Keitel, Tisa Farrow and Jim Brown (1978); "Zuma Beach" co-starring Suzanne Somers, Steven Keats, Mark Wheeler, Delta Burke, Timothy Hutton, Rosanna Arquette, and Michael Biehn (1978); and in 1978, Robert starred in her first TV series "Greatest Heroes of the Bible" co-starring Victor Jory, Brad Crandall and Peter Mark Richman (1978);

Roberts began the '80s appearing in a couple of episodes of "Vega$" starring Robert Urich, Bart Braverman, Greg Morris, Tony Curtis, Judy Landers, and Phyllis Davis (1980); and "Waikiki" co-starring Dack Rambo, Darren McGavin, Steve Marachuk and Donna Mills (1980).

It was in 1980 that Tanya Roberts landed the role of Julie Rogers on "Charlie's Angels" co-starring Jaclyn Smith (Kelly Garrett), Cheryl Ladd (Kris Munroe), and David Doyle (Tom Bosley).  Tanya filled a gap left in the show when Shelley Hack (Tiffany Welles) left the show after a short stay when she replaced Kate Jackson (Sabrina Duncan) when she departed the show.  Tanya was with the show for sixteen episodes until the show ended in 1981.  This was the shortest run of any of the Angels on the show including Farrah Fawcett-Majors who left after the first season, but returned as a guest star throughout the life of the show.

  1. worst angel ever!!! tanya looked pretty cheap in the show, a dime-a-dozen and rather ordinary-looking starlet hoping to hitch a ride to the stars via a teeny-weeny bikini. too bad for the show but really she lacked the beauty, glamour and sophistication of kate, farrah, jaclyn, cheryl and shelley. now, those girls were stars!

  2. i’ll take her as a soft-porn performer! but she was no tv actress or glam celeb in the vein of the other beautiful angels before her...

    Probably the most beautiful woman ever. Her career didn't pan out as well as the early promise would seem to show, but to suggest she was the worse of the six just makes you look plain stupid. Either that or you're not into girls...
    Personally think you fancy her from her early career, but you are disappointed she didn't do more serious stuff. Get over it.

  4. I think she was quite beautiful but Kelly,Jill, and Sabrina were a hard act to follow. When that show was a hit it was the dynamic between those three original cast members that captured the audience. Theshow tooka big hit when Fawcett defected then Jackson split and it just wasn't the same anymore. I don't think it was Roberts fault, the show just wasn't the same.

  6. How can anyone not look at this woman and not see a very beautiful woman? I look at her current photos and still see a very amazing, beautiful, woman.

  7. Most gorgeous woman ever, and yes, she has talent too! For me she was/is the best angel because she got the worst season and did her best to fit in, who says the contrary is really ignorant. She tops all the other angels in terms of beauty and action. I can´t get enough of her beauty and charm and if I was a producer/director she sure would have a TV show of her own, even now she is stunningly gorgeous. We miss you on TV and movies Tanya!

  8. Stunningly beautiful, perhaps producers only took that in consideration and that,s why she could not develop a better career but she was, and she is near from perfect.

  9. Tanya Roberts was a beautiful girl. I think she just got type cast as a sex object right from the start. But her eyes are seriously gorgeous.
