Jaclyn Smith who played Kelly Garrett in the TV show "Charlie's Angels".

Jaclyn Smith was born October, 1947 in Houston, Texas.  She is best known for playing Kelly Garrett in the TV show "Charlie's Angels".  Jaclyn is the only original angel to survive the entire series as Farrah Fawcett and Kate Jackson both left the show.

Jaclyn took a similar track as Farrah Fawcett starting in commercials and even some of the same TV shows and eventually became a "Breck girl" for Breck Shampoo in 1971 and later for Wella Balsam shampoo. However, Jaclyn got her acting start in an uncredited appearance in the film "Goodbye, Columbus" in 1969. Smith co-starred with Richard Benjamin, Ali MacGraw and Jack Klugman.  She then got a role that same year in "The Adventurers" co-starring Charles Aznavour, Alan Badel, Candice Bergen, Olivia de Havilland, and Ernest Borgnine.  In 1970, Jaclyn appeared in her first TV series "The Partridge Family" starring Shirley Jones, David Cassidy, Susan Dey, Danny Bonaduce, Suzanne Crough, Brian Forster, and Dave Madden.

Two years later Jaclyn would star in the TV movie "Probe" co-starring Hugh O'Brian, Elke Sommer and Burgess Meredith (1972).  She would go on to star in "Oh, Nurse!" co-starring Lori Saunders, Heather Young and Judy Pace (1972); "Bootleggers" co-starring Paul Koslo, Dennis Fimple and Slim Pickens (1974); "Fools, Females and Fun" co-starring Leonard Beatty, Brooke Bundy, Jack Cassidy, Sam Melville, Julie Newmar, and Barbara Rush (1974); "McCloud" starring Dennis Weaver, J.D. Cannon and Terry Carter (2 episodes, 1973-75); "Get Christie Love!" starring Teresa Graves, Charles Cioffi and Jack Kelly (1975); "Switch" starring Robert Wagner, Eddie Albert, Sharon Gless, and Charlie Callas (3 episodes, 1975); "The Rookies" starring Georg Stanford Brown, Sam Melville, Michael Ontkean, Bruce Fairbairn, Gerald S. O'Loughlin, and soon to be "Charlie's Angels" co-star Kate Jackson (1975);

In 1976 Jaclyn begain playing the role of Kelly Garrett on the TV show "Charlie's Angels" as a sexy detective working for the Charles Townsend Agency.  She co-starred with Kate Jackson (Sabrina Duncan), Farrah Fawcett (Jill Munroe), David Doyle (John Bosley), the unseen John Forsythe as the voice of Charlie Townsend, and the eventual replacement angels Cheryl Ladd (Kris Munroe), Shelley Hack (Tiffany Welles), and Tanya Roberts (Julie Rogers).  Jaclyn stuck with her role for the entire run of the show until 1981.

Jaclyn Smith had a successful modeling career as well as a star of television and film

During her run on "Charlie's Angels", Jaclyn starred in "The Whiz Kid and the Carnival Caper" co-starring Eric Shea, Clay O'Brien, Kim Richards, and Jaclyn Smith (1976); "The San Pedro Beach Bums" co-starring Christopher Murney, Stuart Pankin and John Mark Robinson (1977); "The Love Boat" starring Gavin MacLeod, Bernie Kopell, Ted Lange, Fred Grandy, Lauren Tewes, and Jill Whelan (1977); she got a lead role in "Escape from Bogen County" co-starring Mitch Ryan, Pat Hingle and Henry Gibson (1977); another lead in "The Users" co-starring Tony Curtis, Joan Fontaine, John Forsythe, Red Buttons, George Hamilton, Michelle Phillips, John Pleshette, and Darren McGavin (1978); and "Nightkill" co-starring Robert Mitchum, James Franciscus, Mike Connors, and Sybil Danning (1980).

After "Charlie's Angels" Jaclyn went on to star in "Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy" co-starring James Franciscus, Rod Taylor, Stephen Elliott, Claudette Nevins, and Donald Moffat (1981); "Rage of Angels" co-starring Ken Howard and Kevin Conway (1983); "Sentimental Journey" co-starring Tom Bade, Gerry Bamman and Elia Enid Cadilla (1984); mini series "George Washington" co-starring Barry Bostwick, Lloyd Bridges, Patty Duke, David Dukes, and Hal Holbrook (1984); "The Night They Saved Christmas" co-starring Art Carney, Paul Le Mat, Mason Adams, and June Lockhart (1984); "Florence Nightingale" co-starring Claire Bloom and Timothy Dalton (1985); and "Déjà Vu" co-starring Nigel Terry, Claire Bloom, and Shelley Winters (1985).

In 1985, Jaclyn created her own line of women's clothing to be sold exclusively by Kmart.  This would mark Smith's entrance into the world of business.

To round out the '80s, Jaclyn starred in "Rage of Angels: The Story Continues" co-starring Ken Howard, Susan Sullivan, Mason Adams, Michael Nouri, and Angela Lansbury (1986); "Windmills of the Gods" co-starring Robert Wagner, Michael Moriarty, and Ian McKellen (1988); way before Mat Damon, Jaclyn starred in the original "The Bourne Identity" co-starring Richard Chamberlain, Anthony Quayle, and Donald Moffat (1988); "Settle the Score" co-starring Jeffrey DeMunn, Louise Latham, Amy Wright, and Howard Duff (1989); and "Christine Cromwell" co-starring Ralph Bellamy, Celeste Holm, and Rebekah Carlton (1989-90).

In the 1990s Smith starred in "Kaleidoscope" co-starring Perry King, Patricia Kalember, Claudia Christian, Donald Moffat, Kim Thomson, Mary Jo Keenen, and Erika Flores (1990); "Lies Before Kisses" co-starring Ben Gazzara, Nick Mancuso, Greg Evigan, and Lisa Rinna (1991); "The Rape of Doctor Willis" co-starring Holland Taylor, Lisa Jakub, and Robin Thomas (1991); "In the Arms of a Killer" co-starring John Spencer, Nina Foch, Gerald S. O'Loughlin, and Linda Dona (1992); "Nightmare in the Daylight" co-starring Christopher Reeve, Tom Mason, Glynnis O'Connor, and Christina Pickles (1992); "Love Can Be Murder" co-starring Corbin Bernsen, Anne Francis, and Cliff De Young (1992); "Cries Unheard: The Donna Yaklich Story" co-starring Brad Johnson, Hilary Swank, and Carolyn McCormick (1994); and "Family Album" co-starring Michael Ontkean, Joe Flanigan, Kristin Minter, and Kristen Dalton (1994).

In the later half of the '90s, Jaclyn starred in "My Very Best Friend" co-starring Jill Eikenberry, Tom Irwin, Kimberley Warnat, and Mary Kay Place (1996); "Married to a Stranger" co-starring Robert Clohessy, Lorena Gale, Ed Lauter, and Kim Coates (1997); "Before He Wakes" co-starring Diana Scarwid, Timothy Carhart, and Liliana Cabal (1998); "Free Fall" co-starring Hannes Jaenicke, Bruce Boxleitner, Hayden Christensen, Chad Everett, Lori Hallier, and Tanja Reichert (1999); and "Three Secrets" co-starring Katy Boyer, Nicole Forester, Tyne Daly, and Karen M. Waldron (1999).

In the new millennium Jaclyn starred in "Navigating the Heart" co-starring Tim Matheson, Tantoo Cardinal, Lynda Boyd, and David Andrews (2000); and "Becker" co-starring Ted Danson, Hattie Winston, Shawnee Smith, Terry Farrell, and Nancy Travis (2 episodes, 2000-2001).

In 2002 Jaclyn began playing the role of Vanessa Cavanaugh in the TV series "The District" co-starring Craig T. Nelson, Roger Aaron Brown, Elizabeth Marvel, and Sean Patrick Thomas.  She starred in fourteen episodes until the show ended in 2004.  During her run on this show, Smith also made an uncredited appearance as Kelly Garrett in "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" co-starring Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu, Cameron Diaz, and Bernie Mac (2003);

In 2004, Smith starred in two episodes of "Hope & Faith" starring Faith Ford, Kelly Ripa, Ted McGinley, and Megan Fox. The following year, Jaclyn starred in  "Ordinary Miracles" co-starring Lyndsy Fonseca, C. Thomas Howell, Sarah Aldrich, Corbin Bernsen, Ina Barron, and Erik Eidem (2005).

After an absence from the entertainment scene, Jaclyn was selected to co-host the reality show "Shear Genius" in 2007 through 2008.

Recently Jaclyn starred in "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" co-starring Mariska Hargitay, Christopher Meloni, Richard Belzer, Tamara Tunie, and Diane Neal (2010) and a documentary on breast cancer survivors "1 a Minute" co-starring Olivia Newton-John, Melissa Etheridge, Lisa Ray, Morgan Brittany, and many others (2010).  Jaclyn Smith as well as her "Charlie's Angel" co-star Kate Jackson are breast cancer survivors.
