Cheryl Ladd who played Kris Munroe in "Charlie's Angels"

Cheryl Ladd was born Cheryl Jean Stoppelmoor July, 1951 in Huron, South Dakota.  She is best known as playing Kris Munroe in "Charlie's Angels" after taking over Farrah Fawcett's spot.  She came into the show as Jill Munroe's sister.

In 1970, Cheryl wanted to be a singer.  She performed under the name Cherie Moor and was most famous as the singing voice of the character Melody in the cartoon Josie and the Pussycats.  The following year she got a role in "Chrome and Hot Leather" co-starring William Smith, Tony Young, Marvin Gaye, Larry Bishop, Kathrine Baumann and Michael Haynes.

Early on in on-set shooting, Cheryl would use her real name, Cheryl Stoppelmoor. She would appear in a couple of episodes of "The Rookies" starring Georg Stanford Brown, Sam Melville, Michael Ontkean, Bruce Fairbairn, Gerald S. O'Loughlin, and future "Charlies Angels" co-star Kate Jackson (1972-73); "Harry O" starring David Janssen, Henry Darrow and Anthony Zerbe (1973); "Ironside" starring Raymond Burr, Don Galloway, Barbara Anderson, and Don Mitchell (1973); three episodes of "Search" starring Burgess Meredith, Hugh O'Brian and Doug McClure (1972-73); "Satan's School for Girls" co-starring Pamela Franklin, Roy Thinnes, Lloyd Bochner, and Kate Jackson (1973); "The Partridge Family" starring Shirley Jones, David Cassidy, Susan Dey, Danny Bonaduce, Suzanne Crough, Brian Forster, and Dave Madden (1973); "Happy Days" starring Ron Howard, Henry Winkler, Marion Ross, Tom Bosley, Erin Moran, Donny Most, Anson Williams, Al Molinaro, and Scott Baio (1974);

In 1975, Cheryl starred in her first feature film "The Treasure of Jamaica Reef" aka "Evil in the Deep" co-starring Stephen Boyd, Chuck Woolery and future husband David Ladd;  she would go on to appear in the show "Switch" starring Robert Wagner, Eddie Albert, Sharon Gless, and Charlie Callas (1975); and the last time Cheryl would be credited under her maiden name was in "Police Woman" starring Angie Dickinson, Earl Holliman and Charles Dierkop (1977).

It was in 1977 that Cheryl began playing the role of Kris Munroe in "Charlie's Angels" she was set to be Farrah Fawcett-Major's replacement although Farrah returned for more guest appearances due to contract issues.  Cheryl ended up in many more episodes than Farrah Fawcett-Majors played as Jill Munroe.  Ladd's other co-starrs were Jaclyn Smith (Kelley Garrett) and Kate Jackson (Sabrina Duncan) who would also leave the show eventually.  Leaving co-star Shelly Hack (Tiffany Welles) to fill the void, and Shelly would eventually be replaced by Tanya Roberts (Julie Rogers). David Doyle played the role of Tom Bosley and John Forsythe would play the voice of Charlie Townsend.  Cheryl stuck with the role of Kris Munroe until the show ended in 1981.

During her run on "Charlie's Angels", Cheryl would also star in "Police Story" starring Scott Brady, Joe Santos, Dane Clark, and Shelly Novack (1977); "The Fantastic Journey" starring Jared Martin, Carl Franklin, Roddy McDowall, Katie Saylor, and Ike Eisenmann (1977); "The San Pedro Beach Bums" in the episode "Angels and the Bums" starring Christopher Murney, Stuart Pankin and John Mark Robinson (1977); and a leading role in the movie "When She Was Bad..." co-starring Robert Urich, Dabney Coleman, Nicole Eggert, and Eileen Brennan (1979).

After "Charlie's Angels", Cheryl starred in film and TV movies such as "The Hasty Heart" co-starring Jesse Ferguson, Gregory Harrison and Perry King (1983); "Kentucky Woman" co-starring Ned Beatty, Tess Harper, Peter Weller, and Philip Levien (1983); "Grace Kelly" co-starring Lloyd Bridges and Diane Ladd (1983); "Now and Forever" co-starring Robert Coleby, Christine Amor, Aileen Britton, and Carmen Duncan (1983); "Purple Hearts" co-starring Ken Wahl, Stephen Lee, and Annie McEnroe (1984); "Romance on the Orient Express" co-starring Stuart Wilson, Ralph Michael, Julian Sands, and Renée Asherson (1985); and mini-series "A Death in California" co-starring Sam Elliott, John Ashton, and Alexis Smith (1985).

Ladd finished out the '80s with the mini-series "Crossings" co-starring Lee Horsley, Jane Seymour, Stewart Granger, Joan Fontaine, and Christopher Plummer (1986); "Deadly Care" co-starring Jason Miller, Belinda Balaski, Peggy McCay, and Jennifer Salt (1987); "Bluegrass" co-starring Wayne Rogers, Mickey Rooney, Diane Ladd, and Shawnee Smith (1988); "The Fulfillment of Mary Gray" co-starring Ted Levine, Sheila Kelley, and Lewis Smith (1989); and "Millennium" co-starring Kris Kristofferson, Daniel J. Travanti, and Robert Joy (1989).

In 1994 Cheryl once again played a regular in a TV show as Dawn 'Holli' Holliday M.E. in "One West Waikiki" co-starring Richard Burgi and Kayla Blake.  Ladd played the role for he entire three year run of the show.  During this time she also starred in "Kiss and Tell" co-starring John Terry, Barry Corbin, Francie Swift, and Diana DeGarmo who would eventually go on to become a top 12 "American Idol" contestant (1996); and "The Haunting of Lisa" co-starring Duncan Regehr, Aemilia Robinson, and Amanda Tapping (1996);

Ladd would go on to star in "Vows of Deception" co-starring Nick Mancuso, Nancy Cartwright, Mike Farrell, and Michael Woolson (1996); "Ink" starring Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen and Jonathan Katz (1997); "Every Mother's Worst Fear" co-starring Jordan Ladd, Robert Wisden, Ted McGinley, Chiara Zanni, and Tasha Simms (1998); "Permanent Midnight" co-starring Ben Stiller, Maria Bello, Jay Paulson, Maria Bello, Owen Wilson, Elizabeth Hurley, and Lourdes Benedicto (1998); "Perfect Little Angels" co-starring Jody Thompson, Michael York, Tanja Reichert, and Chiara Zanni (1998); "Jesse" starring Christina Applegate, Jennifer Milmore, Bruno Campos, and Liza Snyder (1999); "Liza Snyder" co-starring Michael Landon; the Father I Knew" co-starring John Schneider, Joel Berti, Sarah Lancaster, Julie Condra, and Daveigh Chase (1999); and "A Dog of Flanders" co-starring Jack Warden, Jeremy James Kissner, Jon Voight, and Jesse James (1999).

In the new millennium, Cheryl would star in 2 episodes of "Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place" starring Traylor Howard, Ryan Reynolds, Suzanne Cryer, Jillian Bach, and Richard Ruccolo (2000); "Her Best Friend's Husband" co-starring Bess Armstrong, William R. Moses, and Lindy Booth (2002); and "Charmed" starring Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano, Rose McGowan, and Brian Krause (2003).

In 2003, Ladd began playing the role of Jillian Deline in "Las Vegas" co-starring Josh Duhamel, James Caan, Molly Sims, and James Lesure, Nikki Cox, and Marsha Thomason.  Cheryl played in 28 episodes of the show until it ended in 2008.

During her run on "Las Vegas", Ladd also appeared in "Hope & Faith" starring Faith Ford, Kelly Ripa, Megan Fox, and Ted McGinley (2004); "Eve's Christmas" co-starring Elisa Donovan and Sebastian Spence (2004); "Model Family" co-starring Ian Abercrombie, Alla Green, Tricia Small , and John Schneider (2006); and "Though None Go with Me" co-starring Amy Grabow and Denise Grayson, Bruce Weitz, and Millie Perkins (2006); "Baggage" co-starring Barry Bostwick, Julia Sobaski, Stephen Polk, Leah Wagner, Rachael Dayne, and Cyn Dulay (2008); and "CSI: Miami" starring David Caruso, Emily Procter, Adam Rodriguez, Khandi Alexander, and Eva La Rue (2009).

Most recently in 2010, Cheryl Ladd has starred in "Love's Resounding Courage" co-starring Wes Brown, Morgan Lily, Julie Mond, Willow Geer, and Bruce Boxleitner.  Hopefully, we'll be seeing more of Cheryl in the near future.
