Winnie from The Wonder Years actress Danica McKellar

Danica Mae McKellar was born in California on January 3, 1975.  Danica is best known for her role as Winnie Cooper, Kevin Arnold's girlfriend (on occasion) in the TV show "The Wonder Years".

Danica got her television start in 1985 on "The Twilight Zone".  Two years later she returned to "The Twilight Zone" for another episode. 

It was in 1988 that she landed the role of Winnie Cooper on "The Wonder Years", the show about a reliving adolescent to teen life.  Danica played lead actor Fred Savage's character, Kevin Arnold's sometimes girlfriend. She also co-starred with Josh Saviano, Dan Lauria (Jack Arnold), Jason Hervey (Wayne Arnold), Alley Mills (Norma Arnold), and Olivia d'Abo (Karen Arnold) and was narrated by Daniel Stern. Danica stayed with the show for 88 episodes until it ended in 1993.

During "The Wonder Years" in 1989 McKellar starred her voice on "The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!" as well as starring in the TV movie "Camp Cucamonga" which starred John Ratzenberger, Chad Allen, Jennifer Aniston, Candace Cameron Bure, Richard Herd, Jaleel White aka "Erkel", Lauren Tewes, Sherman Hemsley, and "Wonder Years" co-star Josh Saviano.  She also starred in "Sidekicks" with Chuck Norris, Beau Bridges, Jonathan Brandis, Mako, Joe Piscopo, Richard Moll, and Chuck Norris (1992).

"The Wonder Years" Danica appeared in shows and films such as "Babylon 5" starring Mira Furlan, Richard Biggs, Stephen Furst, Claudia Christian, and Bruce Boxleitner (1994), "Moment of Truth: Cradle of Conspiracy" co-starring Dee Wallace, Kurt Deutsch, Ellen Crawford, and Jamie Luner (1994), "Walker, Texas Ranger" starring Chuck Norris, Clarence Gilyard Jr. and Sheree J. Wilson (1994), "Sirens" starring A.J. Johnson, Liza Snyder and Jayne Heitmeyer (1994), "Justice for Annie: A Moment of Truth Movie"  co-starring Peggy Lipton, Terry David Mulligan, Gwynyth Walsh, and Bruce Weitz (1996), "Random Play" starring Michael Ian Black, Michael Showalter and David Wain (1999), and she appeared in a couple of episodes of her old "Wonder Years" co-star Fred Savage's new show "Working" co-starring Maurice Godin, Arden Myrin, Sarah Knowlton, and Yvette Freeman.

In the new millennium, Danica starred in "Good Neighbor" aka "The Killer Next Door" co-starring Billy Dee Williams, Tobin Bell, Amber Wallace, and Kelly Finley (2001), "The Division" starring Bonnie Bedelia, Nancy McKeon and Amy Jo Johnson (2001), "XCU: Extreme Close Up" starring Susan Egan, Sarah Chalke, Jay Michael Ferguson, and Reggie Lee (2001), and "Even Stevens" starring Shia LaBeouf, Christy Carlson Romano, Tom Virtue, A.J. Trauth, and Donna Pescow (2001).

Danica also starred in a string of films the following year including "Black Hole" co-starring Jay Michael Ferguson, Reggie Lee, Allison Lange, and Kathrin Middleton (2002); "Sex and the Teenage Mind" with Jay Michael Ferguson, Allison Lange, Dee Wallace, Jodi Fleisher (2002), "Jane White Is Sick & Twisted" starring Kim Little, Wil Wheaton, Richard Kline, Ted Shackelford, Maureen McCormick of "The Brady Bunch" and former "Wonder Years" co-star Alley Mills (2002), "The Year That Trembled" starring Jonathan Brandis, Charlie Finn, Jay R. Ferguson, and Meredith Monroe (2002), "Hip, Edgy, Sexy, Cool" starring Alex Alexander, Robert Amico, Evan Arnold, Margaret Easley, and Holly Fields (2002), as well as lending her voice to "Justice League".

Also in 2002, Danica began playing the role of Elsie Snuffin in "The West Wing" starring Martin Sheen, Rob Lowe, Allison Janney, Janel Moloney, Melissa Fitzgerald, Stockard Channing, and Alan Alda.  She performed in 8 episodes until 2003. 

McKellar also starred in "Raising Genius" starring Justin Long, Wendie Malick, Stephen Root, and Ed Begley Jr. (2004), that same year she also appeared in "Century City".  Since 2000 until 2004 Danica also starred her voice in 14 episodes of the series "Static Shock".  She also starred in a film in 2004, "Static Shock" co-starring Claudia Christian, Corbin Bernsen, Ron Perlman, James Van Patten, Vanessa Lee Evigan, Pat Van Patten, and Dick Van Patten.  To finish out a very busy 2004 for McKellar including a couple of voice credits in video games, she aslo appeared in "Eve" starring Ali Landry, Natalie Desselle and Eve.

Danica also appeared in "NCIS" starring Mark Harmon, Michael Weatherly and Pauley Perrette (2005), "Jack & Bobby" starring Christine Lahti, Matt Long, Logan Lerman, Jessica Paré, and Keri Lynn Pratt (2005), "NYPD Blue" starring Dennis Franz, Gordon Clapp, Kim Delaney and Bill Brochtrup (2005), and "Strong Medicine" Rosa Blasi, Jenifer Lewis and Joshua Cox (2005), "Path of Destruction" co-starring David Keith and Chris Pratt (2005).

Danica played the role of Maddie Monroe in the TV movie "Inspector Mom" co-starring Drew Waters, Susana Gibb, Ashlan Cunningham, Nate Bell, and Meeghan Holaway (2006), which led to the same role in 10 episodes of the TV series of the same name until 2007.  Followed by another TV movie "Inspector Mom: Kidnapped in Ten Easy Steps" co-starring Drew Waters and Susana Gibb, Ashlan Cunningham, Nate Bell, and Scarlett McAlister (2007).   It is not totally unusual for Danica to be playing a mom at this point, because she has a child of her own now!


During this time McKellar also stared in "Hack!" co-starring Jay Kenneth Johnson, William Forsythe, Gabrielle Richens, and Juliet Landau (2007) as well as appearing in a couple of episodes of "How I Met Your Mother" starring Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders, Alyson Hannigan, and Neil Patrick Harris.

McKellar also starred in the movie "Heatstroke" co-starring D.B. Sweeney, Chris Cleveland, and Kelly Rice (2008), "The Big Bang Theory" Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco (2010).  Danica did mostly voice work for the remainder of 2010.
