Cherie Johnson who played Punkie Brewster's best friend

Cherie Johnson was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania November 21, 1975. She is best known as Punkie Brewster's (Soleil Moon Frye) best friend named oddly enough, Cherie Johnson. Another oddity about the show is that her Grandma on the show was her real life Grandma, Susie Garrett.

Cherie got her acting start in 1984 with a little help from her uncle who was a producer, and got a part on "Punky Brewster" as of course Cherie Johnson, Punky's best friend.  She co-starred with Soleil Moon Frye (Punky Brewster), George Gaynes (Henry Warnimont
), Susie Garrett (Betty Johnson), Ami Foster (Margaux Kramer), and Casey Ellison (Allen Anderson). Cherie stuck with the role until the show's end in 1988.
