Tom Wopat - The Dukes of Hazzard's Luke Duke

Born in Wisconsin in 1951, Tom Wopat first appeared in the entertainment world on the Broadway stage in 1977 replacing another star in the musical I Love My Wife.  He made several other musical credits under his belt including Guys and Dolls.

He made his first TV appearance in the soap opera One Life to Live, but however is most famous for his role as Luke Duke in the TV series The Dukes of Hazzard along with John Schneider (Bo) and Catherine Bach (Daisy).

Since then Tom has been quite busy. From 1983 through 2005 even while The Dukes of Hazzard was still running, he released various musical albums covering many genres.

In 1989 he starred in the TV show A Peaceable Kingdom with Lindsay Wagner and again in 95-98 Jeff Robbins on Cybill with Cybill Shepard as well as many other TV and Broadway appearances too numerous to mention.  1997 brought The Dukes of Hazzard: Reunion! made for TV movie which he reprised his role as 'Luke Duke'.  Then again in 2000 for The Dukes of Hazzard: Hazzard in Hollywood.

In 1999, Wopat was nominated or a Tony Award for best actor in the musical Annie Get Your Gun.  He starred in the daytime drama All my Children from 2001 through 2002.

During a 2005 episode of the TV series Smallville an episode called Exposed reunited Tom Wopat and John Schneider for the first time since The Dukes of Hazzard TV movies.  Not letting up any steam, Wopat starred in the 2008 musical by Harvey Fierstein, A Catered Affair as well as the motion picture The Understudy.  Still going strong in 2010 it was Sondheim on Sondheim on Broadway and the movie Jonah Hex starring as Colonel Slocum along with Megan Fox.

It seems that Tom Wopat is in high demand as an actor both on the stage, on the TV set, and the big screen!
