Suzanne Somers star of Three's Company, She's The Sheriff, and Step by Step

Born Suzanne Mahoney in 1946, Suzanne Somers is the knockout blonde beauty "Chrissy" that stole everyone's hearts in "Three's Company" in the late 70's and early 80's co-starring with John Ritter, Joyce DeWitt, Don Knotts, and Richard Kline.  Suzanne also starred in a couple of other major TV series.  In 1987-89 it was "She's The Sheriff" with George Wyner, Pat Carroll, and Lou Richards In the early 90s it was "Carol" in "Step by Step" co-starring Patrick Duffy former star of "Dallas".

Suzanne had her first uncredited role in the movie "Bullitt" starring Steve McQueen and Jacqueline Bisset.  She had her first credited role as "The girl in the T-Bird" in the film "American Graffitti" starring Richard Dreyfuss and Ron Howard.  Prior to "Three's Company", she did most of her work on TV shows including "Lotsa Luck", "The Rockford Files", "One Day At A Time", "The Love Boat" starring Gavin MacLeod, "Starsky and Hutch", and "The Six Million Dollar Man" with Lee Majors and Richard Anderson.  She landed the role of Chrissy Snow in "Three's Company" and starred in 89 episodes from 1977 to 1981.  After her departure from the show, she was replaced by a new roommate Terri, played by Priscilla Barnes.

Suzanne did a few TV movies in the next few years, then in 1987 through 1989 she starred in the show "She's The Sheriff" as Hildy Granger the sheriff of a small town.  Ironically, this role was to be played by Priscilla Barnes who originally did the pilot for the show.  Barnes took Somers' place in "Three's Company".  Suzanne did many made for TV movies through the 90's such as "Seduced By Evil", "Love Struck", and "No Laughing Matter".

Somers' big hit of the 90's however, was the show "Step By Step", a sort of new variation of "The Brady Bunch" where a single man, Frank played by Patrick Duffy and woman, Carol played by Somers, meet and marry.  However they each have three kids who do not get along so well. During this time period in the mid 90's, she also managed to release a series of exercise video's entitled "Somersize".  Suzanne also co-hosted the show Candid Camera at the end of the decade.

After "Step By Step", her career dwindled and she only appeared in a couple of movies "Rusty: A Dog's Tale" in 1998 and "The Darklings" (TV 1999).  However, she has become a successful author of a series popular self-help books and others including "After the Fall", "Wednesday's children: Adult Survivors of Abuse Speak Out", "The Sexy Years: Discover the Hormone Connection", "Ageless: The Naked Truth About Bioidentical Hormones", "Breakthrough", and "Knockout".

Suzanne Somers today

  1. John Ritter was, in my oppinion the major part of the show.

  2. Susanne... you, are, still, very pretty. and your eyes are very pretty !!!

  3. She was a streetwalker in her very earliest LA days, graduated to a Studio Escort then slept her way into stardom on 3's Company (a lover of Liz Smith. who got her major contacts). She dated the Playboy Bunny Ellen Michaels.

It all fell apart when she demanded too much from CBS in the contract negotiations; Liz stuck with the studio (duh) and they've feuded ever since. Supposedly CBS lined up Michaels to out Somers which made ABC back off their plans for a new sitcom (the Playboy expose - that Somers had done nudes - never made any sense, but the sexual blackmail does). It's pretty impressive that she did as well as she did after.
