His television credits are extensive. Some include Frontier, My Friend Flicka, State Trooper, Route 66, Gunsmoke, The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams along with Dan Haggerty, The Doris Day Show, and The Andy Griffith Show. He was well known for the role he played as "Mad Jack" in The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams, however, he was best known for his role as Uncle Jessie in The Dukes of Hazzard. Of which is last role as an actor was in the 1997 TV movie The Dukes of Hazzard: Renunion!.

Denver Pyle died Christmas Day 1997 at the age of 77. He had just had his star placed on the Hollywood walk of fame two weeks prior.
