Catherine Bach - The Dukes of Hazzard's Daisy Duke

Born in Ohio in 1954, Catherine Bach grew up in South Dakota.  Her film debut was one of the children in The Sound of Music.  She did several feature films such as The Midnight Man along with Burt Lancaster and Thunderbolt and Lightfoot with Clint Eastwood.  She then hit TV stardom as one of the Duke cousins 'Daisy' in the TV Show The Dukes of Hazzard that ran from 1979 to 1985.  She starred with John Schneider (Bo) and Tom Wopat (Luke).

She designed her famous Dukes of Hazzard costume of  the tied up halter top and short cutt-off jeans now known everywhere as 'Daisy Dukes'.  Her famous poster of 'Daisy Duke' was one of the best selling posters of all time.

She did a reprise as her role as Daisy in the TV movie The Dukes of Hazzard: Reunion! in 1997 and another The Dukes of Hazzard: Hazzard in Hollywood in 2000.  She has also done a few appearances in other movies and an occasional TV show.  Jessica Simpson resurrected the role of 'Daisy Duke' in the motion picture release of 'The Dukes of Hazzard' in 2005.

Catherine Bach Today

She starred in the 1992 TV show “African Skies” as Margo Dutton along with Robert Mitchum.  She created her own line of jewelry in the early 2000's and she sells her "Daisy Dukes" on her website.  She has a couple of TV and movie works in production, but will be forever known as the original "Daisy Duke".
